Hi, I'm struggling with raising load request on the 172H-X DME. I lifted the load tables and torque maximums, even flashed X-HP to help, but the DME is still seemingly deciding what it wants regardless of lifting ceilings. I'm so used to the N55 where the DME seems to always want to hit max load ceiling under WOT.

Can anyone share their basic load strategy for this DME? I'm covered on PID, Fuel, and Ignition. That all largely translates across.

Highlights of tables adjusted in search of more load target:

Thanks, but I figured it out. Once I sorted out it was torque driven and not load driven, all is good. The factory PID setup was horrible.
Out of curiosity, what application are you using to tune that? I've only used TunerPro and many years ago, ECU Flash.

Bootmod3. I like how it has a large number of tables defined with descriptions. Makes it easier to figure out what to do. I do find myself looking up the German table names from my n55 tunerpro xdf to find what bootmod calls them.

Unfortunately, bootmod doesn't have custom tunes features for the S63. No map switching, auto ethanol adjustments, or anti-lag. Not like the N55 or S55.

Thanks, I've read lots a good things about bm3. You don't know by chance if they've started supporting n55 e-chassis? I just checked their website and didn't see it listedšŸ˜• A very complete, well labeled XDF would be very nicešŸ‘

I don't know. But I published a branch of the xdf with more tables defined. I think fuel pump was the last I added. Stock only runs the fuel pump at 60 something % duty cycle. I run mine closer to 100% with a pure 750 and some ethanol.

It should be linked in the n55 tuning thread.

Thanks for your contributions!! You're 98g0b, right? I'm 9e60b.

I haven't seen anybody post their experience with the pure750 yet. Any thoughts you'd be willing to share? Do you have it dialed in yet?

can you help me increase n55 boost target.

Hey, I have a few questions about tuning What's the best way to get in touch with you

@Stokes Just got an M6. How do you feel about BM3? I'm in between that and MHD right now. The xdf's from MHD released for my software version are really messy which makes bm3 more desirable. Though I don't think I'll self tune this car really. Is there a GTS startup roar option available?

I moved over to MHD. Ends up the "STOCK" bin from BM3 had something wrong in it that caused me a lot of headaches trying to even achieve smooth stock power. Once I moved over it only took a couple revisions to be where I wanted to be.

After moving over to MHD I realized you can just import the MHD/Github bin into BM3 and use that versus what ever they are using as a "stock" tune. I prefer the reliability of MHD logging over BM3, but do miss the additional logging channels. I like the fully flushed out tables in BootMod and use it to help figure out missing tables in the XDF (aka, what's the value, add it to a draft table in tunerpro and then change to hex view and search the Binary for those values).

I have found having Bootmod useful for the table definitions and descriptions, but wasn't very reliable unless you are going OTS tune and will never log or tweak it. I found the BM3 OTS much much better than the MHD offering.

MHD logs both engines... lol, both DMEs or both N20s, however you want to look at it.

I forgot to mention that there is nothing special available for the S63TU. No MHD+, no Bootmod custom maps. My F85 came with factory startup roar. About 0.5 sec open exhaust and 1200 rpm quick hit. When I moved over to the MHD bin, that was lost, so I found the tables and added it back.

I'll try and remember to get screen shots of the configuration options available for each platform next time I'm in the X5.

Maybe one more thing worth noting. The LPFP is 1000hp capable... same unit in the Veyron. The HPFPs are weak and a swap to the F90 pumps are worth while. I was loosing rail pressure >5500rpm on 93 octane fuel around 24# boost. Moved to the F90 HPFPs and it took E65 to start to give it a challenge. But that could be my lack of knowledge in tuning the pump. I dialed back the FF tables for the HPFP because it kept hitting 3400psi on a 3200psi target. Now with E65, it holds fine until after a shift and it drops a little, then recovers. Oh, and the F90 pumps don't orient the same, at least in the X5, requiring some bending of fuel lines and reshaping the intercooler reservoir tank bracket. You can see the rail pressure in the log link above.

@Stokes thanks for the insight! I used MHD to generate a stock updated bin now so at least I have something that matches my car now. I already have some sort of tune based on the fact that my sport gauge says 640hp and mhd says Last flashed file: Unknown 2019.03.01

To be honest, I don't really want high boost levels at least for now until I get my rod bearings done.

Does BM3 allow you to define your own tables? If not, can I export my tune as a bin and then import it? I would really like to incorporate the startup roar.

After moving over to MHD I realized you can just import the MHD/Github bin into BM3 and use that versus what ever they are using as a "stock" tune. I prefer the reliability of MHD logging over BM3, but do miss the additional logging channels. Knowing what you know now, what would you recommend? As of right now, all I want to do is decrease coolant temp target, add startup roar and add an oem+ like burble, and then eventually go for power. I'm far from new to manually searching the hex for tables but it does start to get cumbersome after a while. But if I can't even add any custom tables to bm3 then mhd may win by default

If MHD advertised a flash option at the time I would have stayed with MHD. But, it wasn't until recently that they started acknowledging the S63tu DME. But that's because I find it fun and challenging to self-tune.

Here's the flash options in MHD. I'll have to post again when I screen shot Bootmod.

@Stokes thanks for the screenshot. Will most likely go with MHD.

Are you willing to reveal how you got your startup roar working? I'd love to try it out on my M6!

Sure... It's not really a roar, but more of a quick rev with the exhaust flap open. I believe these are all in the public XDF.

The MHD bin had the rpm lowering as coolant temp went up. Most likely for catless downpipes. It's decently loud on start with cats.

Oh, looks like the BootMod version used different values. Not sure where I found those above. Here is what was factory. I'll swap the values out and give it a try later.
