Genuine HPFP?

What's the best way to tell if it's new or refurbished? I bought it from a guy who claims it's new from BMW.

Looks pretty new to me and not tampered with.
Afaik that's the latest gen HPFP

I don't know of a way to ever be 100% sure without buying from a trusted source like the dealer or FCP. The box is legit and it looks right to me so unless he swapped it out on you, I think you're probably okay. On critical parts like HPFP I'd only buy from somewhere I trust just to be 100% sure but I think youre okay.

Thanks for the reply! I ended up installing it, and it seems to be the real deal. I no longer have pressure drops in the lower RPM range like I did with the old one. So far, it's performing perfectly!
