Hey I’m in search of a used short shifter for a BMW 1M with a N54 transmission. I am looking for a RTD or CAE. Also looking for feedback from anyone with a Coolerwerx Pro short shifter bc that’s the only one I’m interested in that’s in stock. Delay on RTD or CAE is months.

Coolerworx pro is not even comparable to the rtd
So you prefer the RTD? I was considering ordering one and just waiting on the delivery, still not sure if I should get the racing version or mini. It will see some track days but is a dual purpose car.

Yeah the rtd is so much better and it comes with a dssr which the coolerworx doesn't. Install is easier on the rtd as well in my opinion unless you get the coolerworx direct fit kit or what not. I have the race version but I mostly just do roll racing drag racing and Mexico rolls.

I may order RTD and just wait then. They have like 3 versions. The new lockout one, the carbon fiber, and the regular then the two different heights. May get the lockout and not sure still if I’d want racing or mini height. Is it decent for a daily driver? Thanks

I don't feel like the race is an issue for daily driving but the mini probably would be more convenient. The race its like impossible to miss gears with thats why I enjoy it so much. I don't believe I have the lockout version don't see much of a need for that

I have the Carbon version, I confirm : no need of the lockout version.

My lead time was 3 months, but it was almost 2 years ago (the Carbon was just out), now it's more between 3-5 weeks, you can see the shipping batches on RTD' Instagram.

What did you have before? Stock?

I have the UUC EVO3 w/ DSSR which is fine...just slightly hard to justify spending $500 more on just my shifter.

Yeah fully stock before it wasn't awful when you get used to it but the rtd is a nice upgrade

I need to try out a car with the mini V3. Been sorta hankering after one of these for a while and not happy with my BMS SSK anymore.

Keeping the ZHP knob is a must though.
