Aside from the appearance something that stands out right away with this generation: It's the first time a non-M vehicle would be produced with an LSD at launch instead of offered as an after thought. Like the new M3 the LSD is electronically controlled and is available as an option on the 330i and 330d and standard on the M340i. The vehicles will come with a 48 volt electrical system as we speculated before (hello electric spooled big turbo) which may imply revised engine codes as well as optional laser lights and autonomous driving system.

Speaking of the M340i it has more aggressive styling and gets a 382 hp and 369 lb-ft of torque iteration of the B58 which makes it just as power as the new Z4. Combined with the ZF 8HP eight-speed automatic transmission and optional xDrive all-wheel-drive, the M340i goes 0-60 in 4.2 seconds. On sale in Spring 2019.

The 330i will get a 2.0 liter turbo-four such as the B48 or B46 and will produce 255hp and 295 lb-ft of torque. Sales will begin in March 2019 with pricing starting at $40,200+destination with the xDrive option starting at $2050 more.

The body of the G20 has 25% greater torsional stiffness compared to the F30 and has a perfect 50/50 weight distribution and weighs up to 120 lbs less than its F30 counterpart. This generation also comes with lift-related dampers which is a continuously adjustable and progressive damping system depending on the road surface. The lift-related dampers are standard and come in two specs, standard suspension and M Sport suspension however neither are not adjustable. This means if you want to opt for adjustable dampers, you have to go with the Adaptive M Sport suspension which does not come with the lift-related technology.

Servotronic comes standard which is a power steering assist that is speed dependent; however, the M Sport and Adaptive M Sport suspension options will yield a variable-ratio steering setup which to me sounds like an improved Active Steering.
