WTF is up with e92 N55 downpipes?

Dude... am i going insane or something? So I attempted to install an n55 dp for 2012 335i e92...and once the old one was removed and put next to the new one... the new one was like almost 2 inches shorter than the old one. Did anyone else experience this? I had to reinstall the stock ones because I could not get the new ones to fit no matter what.
My customer has ordered twice now and both times have been sent the wrong ones.

So does anyone have aftermarket downpipes that you installed and know for sure that they fit? And if so, please let me know the brand and product number or website that the customer can order from. Wow...what a cluster f.

Short answer: Tell him to order for a 2011 335i coupe.

The problem is that in the years 2012-2013 the 335i e92 coupe and the new 335i f30 Sedan were in production. Some websites when ordering, it only lets you choose the brand=BMW year=2012, model=335i body=coupe. There’s no option for choosing “e92” “f30”.

To get it right when ordering for 2012-2013 e92 335i, if the website knows the difference is to get the body correct which is “coupe” meaning e92. Some websites don’t have a body field.

Your customer is probably ordering like this:
BMW 2012 335i. Website probably doesn’t let him choose the body.
If you order BMW 2012 335i “coupe” you will get the e92 item.
If you order BMW 2012 335i “sedan” you will get the f30 item.

In the year 2011 there was a facelift for the 335i e92 aka LCI model for the 335i. There was no f30 335i released in 2011 only the LCI e92 model.

For future reference, there’s also a high pressure fuel pump upgrade in the years 2012 - 2013 for the E92’s they have the F series HPFP. 2011 E92’s still have the N54 high pressure fuel pump.
