Weird starting issues on custom flex map (with 0% ethanol)

I posted this on the end of another thread but it was buried at the end and I'm getting desperate. Hopefully someone can suggest something to look at be it hardware or in the tune.

I'm having weird starting issues where it wont start or the HPFP is taking ages to build up (i can see that happening). Now if i flash back to a non flex fuel map it works perfectly - starts instantly hot or cold. But with the custom flex fuel map applied it will either take about 5 secs of cranking, gradually starting once it reaches 2500 psi or like this morning it wont start at all (fuel pressure was OK this time but would not fire). Each time it's fixed by flashing back to non flex map.

Anyway this morning the only difference was that it was a bit cooler and it would not fire up at all. Reset all the adaptions in desperation, still nothing, flashed back to non flex and started perfectly.

I get no codes when the issue is happening and is more obvious the warmer it is. After doing some tests I found, at about 140f (coolant) it starts normally again. Anything over that it progressively takes longer where at about 190f it takes the longest. If its below 70f it does not start at all or its taking so long its longer than i had pressed the button (about 10 secs).

One important thing to mention is that I'm using 0% ethanol just now (its actually a custom setup where the HFS4 meth controller is outputting to the DME). If I simulate voltage to show 100% ethanol in MHD the car starts fine.

Does anyone have any ideas?

What does the bin look like? Sounds like a possible issue with interpolation. Are you using the new MHD+ XDF? I think the old flex fuel stuff is no longer used.

Thanks for the reply. So far it's my tuner (a popular guy) who has been giving me the custom maps. I'm sure he will be using the latest. I have installed my jb4 for testing purposes and applied the flex template maps. Same thing happens where it won't start smooth with 0% ethanol (interpolation at 0 as well). If I look at the warm start tables on the jb4 side I can see they reduce fuelling under over 30c coolant which I about where I get a problem so I think it's a fuelling issue. Going to try and adjust those tables to confirm.

EDIT: Adjusting the flex base warm-up enrichment table to the same as the pump map made no difference.

I will next try loading the MHD OTS flex maps and see what happens.

The MHD flex maps work correctly. I noticed on the new XDF's, as mentioned that some fuel start and warm up tables are in a different place. I don't know much about tuning but my tuner is going to use the latest XDF's and see if this helps

Thank you! As soon as I mentioned this it was sorted so must have been to do with the latest release of MHD/XDF's as you say!

Hi I'm new in the forum and I need advice with my x5 35i N55 with the bearing knock. I discovered that it damaged the number 5 big end bearing. I had struggled to get an original crankshaft of N55 then one of my guys advised me to use N54 and it fitted nicely the only challenge I came across was by the rear on the fly wheel. N55 uses 6 bolts and N54 uses 8 bolts, again its bigger than the N55 on the reluctor. I have used the N54 reluctor and now the car won't start, my mechanic said it's because the ECU is not mapped the same with the N54 reluctor .
.What can do to make my modification work?

N54 came with 6 bolts as well which are even the majority of them. 2006 and early 2007 models are 8 bolt.
