Volume of under seat sub enclosures

Not sure if anybody here gives a flying frog about car stereos, but thought I'd share this for the greater community.

Background:
I'm planning on sealing these up and running different speakers in this location as mid-bass (actual subs will go in the hatch). For my application, I needed to know the internal volume.

Method:
Results will vary depending how you seal them up - details how I measured volume are in the pictures. To measure volume, I bought a shit ton of 0.55" diameter marbles and a 1000mL graduated cylinder. I filled the enclosure up with marbles, then dumped them out and measured the volume of dumped out marbles with the graduated cylinder.

Results:
3.3 Liters
(filled to 1000mL 3 times + another 300mL)

Which amp will you use? Been thinking about doing something similar to you Plan and installing the subs into my rear seat delete thingy

Looking forward to the write up…I went with Audiotec Fischer Match 1k with their MOST bridge …I suspect the underfloor subwoofer volume on your car is about the same as the subwoofer mounted on the rear bulkhead on E89s..

I literally didn't do anything since coming up with the idea . My turbos just broke and while changing them I also upgraded the in and Outlets and intercooler and what not, so I hadn't had any chance nor money to start this project. I hope to get to the subwoofer project around Christmas time next year

Yeah I modeled my driver up in WinISD; was hoping for a -3dB point of 80Hz or less for mid-bass. Sealed shows just over 100Hz, and free-air is even worse. I can get below 90Hz if I port and tune to 70Hz. But the port would have to be external, and would be extremely difficult if not impossible to fit under there. I'm still TBD which path I'll take.

Yeah not much space to work with at all. I ended up with 2 10s in the slowmobile. Had 1 Sundown and it played DEEEEEP.

I don't think so. I switched things around so many times. I have pics of a custom box I built between the 2 rear seats. E93 does not have walk thru like e92s to get in the trunk. You can't physically get into the trunk from the inside of a E93.
I do have video of 4 10s I squeezed into the trunk of a E46 convertible .
I should have took pics and videos of all my cars from the past. Some of those cars were hard to breathe in with radio at full volume.

I don't have many pics of prior systems, but they were always based around two old school punch 15's I bought back in the 90's. I went from:
-dual 15's sealed in 7.5 ft3
-dual 15's ported 30Hz in 7.5 ft3
-dual 15's isobaric sealed in 2ft3
-dual 15's free-air
-dual 15's isobaric in HEAVY walled (1.75" baffle, other walls 1.25") slot ported 28Hz in 2ft3
-dual 15's isobaric with dual 15" passive radiators at 25Hz in HEAVY walled (1.75" baffle, 1.5" radiator baffles, other walls 1.25") braced enclosure, 2ft3

None of them were much to look at, but the last two heavy walled enclosures sounded phenomenal. The subs still work fine after all these year, but I always wanted W7's, and when I got my X1 I figured it was time for something different and smaller.

My Sundown Sub plays the lowest, those things are BEASTS of a subwoofer. Can't post vidz but as I said b4, if you shoot me your # I can send on Whatsapp or something or leave it to your imagination how hard it hits, especially for verts. You would be surprised.

Confused on why pics are in order, then not, then in order again. Every time I refresh it shifts pics around.

What kind of enclosure do you have that Sundown in?

Very nice! Those systems looked great, very clean and well integrated! Did you ever do any sound off competitions?

Never got into it. I have had LOTS of set ups over the years. I ran 1 PPI 2150 to 2 10s and 2 12s in a firebird. Tried and tried to break the rear glass but never happened. The flex was crazy !
Lowrider had same sub set up but on a different amp. The Suburban as well.
Sundown was in a sealed box of .64cf (insane how a SA-V2 requires such a small amount of air space, sealed anyway)
No space to build a ported box in the e93.
Currently it sits with 2 10s and hits HARD. it hits harder than tbe average dual 12s set up in tbe homies cars.
These are just some of what I have built. It's a long list ranging from old school PPI, FOSGATE, HiFONICS, ORION, KICKER etc when shit USED TO BE good.
Remember ORION bridging modules ?
