Oil leak from my HPFP?

I’m getting a small amount of oil collecting under / near the HPFP, which was last changed about 10 years / 50K miles ago. See photos. I felt the HPFP housing on the underside near the vacuum plate and it’s possible (not sure) there could be a little oil there. Is this a common place to see an oil leak? Do HPFPs leak oil? Stock HPFP still seems to be running fine, max pressures around 3000 psi.

notes: Not the oil filter housing gasket or oil cooler housing gasket. The small amount of oil reappears after I wipe it away and drive the car some.

Yes, the HPFP has oil inside of it. Is it possible this is residual oil from some other job? In any case, the HPFP has a rubber ring seal on it to prevent leaking but I guess its possible yours is shot.

I wipe away the oil and it reappears. Probably time for a new HPFP. Thanks for your feedback.

If it holds pressure I'd just throw an O ring on it. But preventative maintenance is cool too.

Before you throw money at it. Maybe put something like some card board under it and drive 10-20 miles and see if there are drips right under it.
Cardboard might not be the best idea but I am still waking up but you get my point.

You will want to know if the leak is between the engine and the pump or the pump and the HPFP if you can.

Are you sure, i normally just fill the intake ports.

in all seriousness if this is the case no one will hear of me again and this car will be burned to the ground.
Burn it to the ground then.
How else do you explain oil coming out ?????
Even if its an O ring that failed. Would said O ring not be sealing a hole in the block ?
Now be a man of your word....we will wait for the video.

@Jeffman did you ever figure it out?

My case is a little more extreme, This is all from 600km's of driving or so.
My leak is very minor. I drive the car very little these days - it’s a once a weekly driver, and it drives fine. I haven’t dug into the engine at all in six months. If I decide to walnut blast then I’ll probably get a better look as to what’s going on.

i noticed this after my car sat for a while. I ordered a vacuum plate seal and a spool billet vacuum plate, and a new hpfp seal. If none of that fixes it ill likely send my overdrive back to be looked at.
