Very cool.

hopefully he posts videos of the completed set up.

so the m4 doesn’t use a trans heat exchanger that has coolant running through it as well like in the e series?

I have heard so many different things about adding a oil cooler to the dct. Some say you need the heat exchanger to heat the oil up, others say you don’t. Another thing I heard is you need something to help with oil flow, of course others say you don’t. So I basically have done nothing. It would be nice to just have oil lines to a thermostat to a cooler like he is going in the video.

This ssp package for example has a gear pump. Is that really needed? https://www.sspperformance.com/bmw-dct-heavy-duty-transmission-cooling-package.html

I’m hoping the zero to sixty guys do a video on cooling DCTs
Unfortunately there are lots of opinions on what you need. The M3 service manual explains why the thermostat is needed

I like the fitting method better, I know of the gts procedure but could never find it
how to exactly do it.

Got a link ?

There’s a specific GTS DCT fill procedure as well… involves jacking up one side of the car

I think your procedure is the diy garage one.

For the M versions there is an adapter like below which allows the 1L overfill.

Love to have the original one any one have a part number.

I'm a sucker for oem parts like this.

Sadly there is no part number that i see :/

I think i'm going to keep the s65 NA due to the lack of support these days.

I can get a stainless banjo from a shop locally as I get all my fittings from there anyway.

Its only an m18x1.5 banjo which I use heaps off and it will by just the perfect length judging by the pics.

Thanks guys much appreciated.

when you have it on the hoist at service time with the engine running.

At least it will tell you if your low and see the colour of the oil.

I have DEKA stage 2 clutch in my DCT and using redline DCT oil.
Couple of months back i removed the gearbox heat exchanger and installed a 25 row oil cooler, using EOS adaptor and -8 lines and fittings.
Gearbox temps dropped from a regular 90-95c to 75-78c. The country that i live in has a brutal summer (avg 50c) temps, i can't make any pull to see if anything got affected by this conversion, i shall come to know in winter but gearbox and clutch behavior didn't change at all.
And yeah, i'm on XHP stage 3 v1.3
