In case anyone was wondering. VTT X SS

I am sure people will find out shortly if they have not already. As of this AM. We have left another popular N54 forum, and we will be treating Spool Street as our goto forum for all things BMW / VTT, new product updates, contests, etc. We feel Tyler has struck a very nice balance of moderation, forum tools to limit vendor bickering, and great content. This site continues to grow, and we are glad to be a part of it. The other site honestly was a great place to be, but the owner is not someone we wanted to continue to do business with. This is about business, not drama, or arguing, we found Chris was literally wasting hours per week on that site, with no benefits at all shown on the back end. If you followed us there, continue to do so here. If you had questions there about products, or warranties, anything really. Drop us a line, via PM, email, phone, or come on by, and talk to us face to face. We have been in business for going on 40 years, and won't be going anywhere. Despite the move, we are just as easy to get a hold of as we were before.

With that said. We have some MAJOR updates coming soon across a couple of the BMW platforms, as well as some cool stuff happening with out N54 shop car, and we look forward to sharing them with you guys..:sunglasses:

To follow up -I'm still here too, still more than gainfully employed, and quite frankly quite busy with a lot of these new projects. I'm not going anywhere. Any issues, questions, concerns -I'm still the guy and if you have an issue it WILL get resolved. We have a lot of new content coming and it has required us to update our operating system to be more efficient. Tony is still saucy. I'm still bald. We all still love turbos, we're just learning (slowly) not to waste quite as much time. Don't worry -we're still going to have fun.

xoxo

Today I just learned a lot about VTT.
Reminds me of the old saying about "the truth".
Before you judge Sticky I think you need to do your own research.

Although there were a lot of things going on in the back ground, there really is no mystery here. Joe is a smart guy, he can quote emails between myself and him all he'd like and it doesn't change our position or any of the facts. Pump the brakes on any of the conspiracy theories. There are lots more emails than you've been shown.

In the end the decision to withdraw was made by us as a company. If bad things are said about VTT strictly because we no longer want to engage there -it reflects more on them than us. The haters (and our competitors) I don't expect neutral positions from, but I have workable relationships with nearly every vendor out there, and spend a lot of time and energy working with customers to make sure they're happy -and fix things when they go awry. We're the same company, moving forward, innovating, and pushing limits same as before and yes, even learning along the way. Other companies will have different philosophies and each potential customer can decide what matters to them.

In the past one of the mistakes that I've had a strong tendency to make is to explain the reasoning behind our decisions in a forthcoming manner, the hope being that if people (readers) are on board during the communication of my (our) thinking process that they'll understand more of the "why" we come to the conclusions we have and be more on board. That is my natural default position; I'm a transparent individual. Been like that my whole life, for good or for bad, that inclination is not likely going to change. I can, however, better learn where my energies are best utilized and maintain some level of discipline to keep them there.

Best,
Chris

Before you judge Sticky I think you need to do your own research.

Oh, I've been browsing bummerboost for years, his antics never change. My opinion, like many others on this site is set in stone, and it's pretty poor.

Some of the insults I've personally gotten from sticky I hadn't heard since middle school. He's extremely immature and not knowledgeable on things he likes to argue about(and he's willing to argue about anything lol)!

I've probably over said it to Tyler.. He hit it outta the park with this one.. I only go on other forums to see what people are selling that about it I give a once a week check in lol

Tyler I'll say it for the 18th or 19th time you did and are doing a great service to moving things forward for all of us! You built an extremely constructive forum full of good vibes is the hippy way I'll describe it!
And remind me next week and I promise I'll dig up some combox info for ya lol
P. S. I just remembered something outta the blue.. Bn in bn2000 ect stands for board net.. Its German engineers talk lol.. Learned that in a calls I took about a month ago

Well, that site has members that will call a vendor out and trash a sub par product.
Especially if you are trying to pass off cheap Chinese junk as a new "game changing" designs.

So I see why you left.
Do you have proof/data to back up your claims, or is just that? Just like inlets and frankenturbo. I see you continually making claims, but still have yet to see you post anything to back it up. How's stickys dick taste?

Agreed. SS is my preferred forum as well. I go to e90post just for the foot traffic in their classifieds. I go to bummerboost to see what they are doing with BBFlash (because the DCT flashing that's being worked on interests me). And I stopped going to N54tech altogether once BMS took personal responsibility out of their customer's hands (and sold all my BMS stuff).

Fred you seem a bit bipolar there friend. Make up your mind on where you stand on VTT. For someone that claims to be as knowledgeable as you are, you sure sip a lot of koolaid from other vendors trying to make themselves look better. Either way, we welcome everyone, hater, and VTT supporter alike, also people who jump back, and forth. We appreciate the opinion!

Fred is right. On just about every point. VTT has great products and is extremely knowledgable, and the less Tony is in front of a computer the better is is for VTT. Both because his knowledge is going towards the business and not marketing; and because his etiquette is pretty bad. VTT is an entity that would be an exceptional case study in business school to show the value of a BOD keeping a CEO/President on task and allowing SME's in certain areas to step in where the Pres/CEO is weak (marketing and public relations here).

Small things make big differences in the written word and even if Tony doesn't intend to come off sounding like a dick in every post he does. Remember, there just one punctuation mark difference between a loving family dinner and cannibalism.

Let's eat grandma!
Let's eat, grandma!

Love hate relationship with vtt.

Tony is likely the most knowledgeable (of turbos) person on the forums. His forum etiquette WAS horrendous, and that alone made me want nothing to do with vtt. After getting Cris on board, and tony leaving the forums, and actually releasing some new, platform changing products, my attitude started to change. Unfortunately, Tony has returned to the forums, in a watered down version of his old self, and, holes are starting to appear in his stories of his cast manifolds, both stage 2's and gc.

I appologize if these come off as negative towards vtt, but, I am trying to figure out why the gc's are now being sold by other vendors under a different name.

As for the bummerboost, I stand by my original comment, and bullshit stories don't fly there. And ss seems to be a 2nd e90 post.

And I don't claim to be that knowlegable. I know manufacturing, and have been on the n54 forums for 4 years now, and other platforms before, so I've learned a thing or two.

Hey Fred,

I used to be a member of e90post. My last post there was telling Jason to do a lot of things I normally wouldn't say publicly. They deleted pretty much everything that didn't resound with a particular tone and that moderation impacted mostly the end users, us the members. This wouldn't have been such a big issue, however there was NEVER an administrator of the board available for explanation, nobody to question. I joined the board in 2009 so I have seen most of the events of this platform, and feel that I have a decent sample size to differentiate a good and bad forum experience. I think you'll find that overall there are less forum warriors out to be dick heads on this board, and more people genuinely interested in sharing information and helping each other out.

I am here and am open to discussion and will happily put forward my points and reasons for doing things. I do this because I think the path I am choosing is indeed fair and if it isn't, then I'm willing to modify my trajectory.

The only things anyone has seen deleted here, besides spam, are unnecessary comments from one vendor to another. Some things can be stated in more modest terms and some things are simply unnecessary. I am trying to deliver an enjoyable product without all of the drama and the vendors know this. If they have drama, they should call each other on the phone and handle their mess there, not making it a shit show and a spectacle over the forum. They usually don't do this, that is how you know its all for show, hence the reason the borderline slanderous back and forth is not permitted here.

Its much like anything, a certain degree of regulation is beneficial, I'm just trying to find that happy middle ground. I'm learning along the way as well.

Hope that helps you understand my intentions.

PS: Don't bring up censorship here in the same sentence as BB, I was a top 10 reputation on bummerboost before he neg repped me from over 3000 to -1000 because I disagreed with him. He spewed lies about being the bringer of the PC flash, he didn't do squat, I would know. Go back to his announcement thread and you'll see my name in the credits and I can tell you he did jack diddly.

Its crazy how many people Joe has fooled, and how many of his vendors he slanders, and talks down to when they are paying him money. When we first came on the scene, he supported us, and bashed RB who had long been on BB. Then he went back, and forth on that.

There came a point where I just flat out hated Joe. Chris suggested we stay just to have a presence there. I reluctantly agreed.

This time Joe actually posted a slanderous post himself saying he was doing it for competing vendor. The hypocrisy in that is literally insane. The person you are paying for advertising, is attacking you? Chris emailed him, and never asked for the thread to be deleted, just cleaned up, it was out of hand. If it was not, we would consider not renewing.

At this point, I told Chris I was done. He agreed, the place is run like a gossip site, not an automotive forum. Yes possibly I fed into it, as I have a short fuse, and speak my mind.

I'm not going to lie, it was a tough choice to leave, not because I did not want to. I have wanted to for a long time, but its well known Joe holds vendors hostage there. How? Because you know full well once you leave, he will go out of his way to down you as a company to anyone who will listen. This includes making things up, colluding with competing vendors to post damaging things, which are usually exaggerated or overblown. (XHP, Propulsive Dynamics, both come to mind)Which is exactly what is happening right now. Chris, and I understood this, and expected it. We know not having a voice there is not ideal as far as just answering questions, etc, but the time had come to go. The place is toxic, we are happy to finally be free of it.
