Hey guys I’m wondering if anyone has advice on whether I should go with an eos pi manifold or a Phoenix one. The money isn’t really my concern more on quality and if the extra money is worth it to go with the eos as I don’t see any real benefit on paper. I tried searching if there was previous discussion on this topic but haven’t seen any. Thanks for any help!

EOS of the two.

Plazaman is nice but it's basically 2.5k without including tax, shipping, and 6 injectors. Over 3 grand when everything is said and done assuming you are installing it yourself. It is probably the nicest intake manifold on the market.

Docerace was supposed to have a new version coming out that is not cast IIRC. Last I checked no ETA. Wouldn't surprise me if it either never comes out or very late this year/into next. I would not go for their cast intake manifold which is discontinued even if you could find it used. It is heavy and some claimed to have lost power with it. Which I am skeptical of but worth mentioning.

The VTT China copy'd FabFactory multiple people have had fitment and clearance issues with. I would stay away.

Personally I just picked up the https://www.precisionraceworks.com/bmp-n54-performance-forward-facing-manifold-bundle.aspx It's a simple tapered log style manifold but it has everything included.

Ya I didn’t realize it was forward facing also with my inlets and charge pipe I de used it was easier to stay stock location. So I guess eos it is

I had that same choice, ended up with the cheap phoenix manifold because i didn't want the extra weight. Had no issues with it, 2 years or so running.

It’s no longer listed on the site but I pmd them on here and asked thanks for the tip!
I was wrong I didn’t see it somehow but they’re still making it. What are the benefits of it if you don’t mind me asking

Ah so slightly cheaper, my bad.

$1,885.54 no options I doubt anyone is buying it raw with no PI.
$2,484.58 with injectors bungs and burst panel

Either way you still have to add 6 injectors, shipping, and tax to the total.

It does not look like it comes with a charge pipe and I doubt you could use the CP from another FF IM. So you will have to then fab your own so more $$$.

It really depends what you want from the manifold.

If you want strength and pi any of the chinese manifolds will suffice as long as they fit well whilst not offering any performance benefit.

If your going to run factory style EOS is the best but make sure you run a phenolic gasket as that thing will get toasty.

VTT I cant comment as I never used it but it suppose to be the same as the fab factory manifold and whilst it is nice the it's very heavy but it does work with nice gains, I have one sitting on my bench as I use to run it but I run a plazmaman these days.

If you want the best money is no option pick the plazmaman as it offers everything in one package like massive weight saving, power, style, pi and is customisable to your needs for extra ports and their location also a burst window, but you will have to make your own charge pipe as they don't make one.

I use to make the charge pipe but don't anymore due to their expense, you will have to get one fabricated.

No matter which one you pick they all get quite pricey once you factor everything in.

I'm yet to see evidence of the EOS manifold offer any tangible benefits over the generic China / Phoenix Racing items, other than looks. I'd be inclined to go with the latter option if engine bay looks aren't a huge priority.

Since money isn't really an issue, I'd consider skipping centre feed and Chinese manifolds altogether and go for a DocRace or Plazmaman manifold, since you actually get more value out of them IMO.

I do really like the look of the M18 manifold though, wonder if it's still for sale.

Since I have the 535xi I was trying to stay with stock location otherwise the plazmaman is gorgeous. The m18 has the inline velocity stacks which makes me like that option but I’m still not sure why it’s not on their website I’m waiting for a response. Currently it seems like the Phoenix is fine if not for the velocity stacks the eos just seems like more for no reason.

Does anyone know if you need any other relocations to fit forward facing besides the charge pipe?

You have to extend the throttle body harness, map sensor adapter harness needs to be longer and tank vent line has to be extended
