Easy fix (would have been easier to cut before it was all back together. Removed the wheels and got a better look. Dropped the tie rod end and cut a little square. Still had to wedge a screw driver to get it off the rubber when it was back together. I like this better than running without the shield

Yeah, I would say this is the easiest fix. I assume some good tin snips or a dremel/grinder will make quick work of it.

I mocked up the 340mm caliper with some 335is 348mm rotors will use that on my car

How did you do this? Heard of this a few times but I am not really sure. As in germany it is generally not allowed to go smaller rotors using the standard 340mm rotors on my 335i is not possible. 340 calipers are way cheaper tho. That is why I would be interested in running the 340 calipers on the standard 348mm rotors.
