So my car is an 11/18/2010 build and came with the 6VC Combox. I don't have iDrive. Supposedly the 6VC unit can do A2DP. It's not turned on for non-CIC cars. I have been unable to find anything out about activating audio streaming capability to my Professional HiFi head unit (I have a HiFi 676a system). Of course my car does bluetooth phone. Not audio.

Looking for insights or pointers?

I have been wondering about this as well. My 335is does not have iDrive but has BT capabilities. I've been using the 'ipod as bluetooth' adapters but struggle with reliability of these devices. Being able to combox A2DP would be great!

Yep ... ditto, Derek. I've written bimmergeeks twice ... best as I can tell, they are non-responsive.

That's great to hear. Unfortunately two attempts to contact with no luck; I'm moving on.

My bimmertech amp/dsp has a stereo aux in, which also senses signal and automatically switches when aux signal is present. So with that said, there is a new qualcomm chip that does APTX HD over bluetooth, which gives excellent quality resolution. So I decided to integrate this into my setup. The unit is about 1" square. I'll run USB to charge it, and aux cable to connect to the DSP. I'll mount it somewhere inconspicuous. It has controls for next/prev and vol +/- ... should be significantly better, signal-wise, than the factory Combox BT, or any of these other hokie BT solutions people are running with their USB or factory aux cable.

We'll see how it works this week.
